Often we only know what a person creates, but not who they are and why they create. human-to-human is a journalism magazine of in-depth interviews with ArtCenter students and graduates while focusing on cultivating empathy. It is a collaboration– each interviewee had a hand in the visual design of their story. Designers and illustrators share their unique journey as well as their insights on the creative community, and their personal ArtCenter experience. The courage to reveal one’s vulnerabilities and struggles through storytelling has revealed the humanity existing at the core of ArtCenter.

We’re humans. We’re not machines. How are you supposed
to know how to navigate through life and work and
be good at everything unless you’re taught how to be a human? You can be a good designer, because you’re good at typesetting, but are you good at being human while doing it?
